Այն Ղազալ ( արաբ՝. عين غزال , 'Ayn Ghazāl , "Գազելի աղբյուր") - Հորդանանի մայրաքաղաք Ամմանի քաղաքացիական օդանավակայանից երկու կիլոմետր դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք ընկած հնավայր։ Զբաղեցնում է մոտավորապես 15 հեկտար տարածք, բնակեցված է եղել մ. թ. ա. 8440 - մ. թ. ա. 6500 թվականների միջակայքում։ Նախաքարեդարյան-քարեդարյան ժամանակների այս բնակավայրը համարվում է Միջին Արևելքում հայտնաբերված նախապատմական ամենաընդարձակ բնակավայրը։

Պեղումների պատմություն

Հնավայրը հայտնաբերվել է 1974 թվականին, ճանապարհ անցկացնելու նպատակով իրականացված աշխատանքների ժամանակ։ Հնագիտական պեղումերն իրականացվել են 1982 - 1985 , 1988 - 1989, 1993 - 1996 թվականներին, ինչպես նաև՝ 1998-ին, Գարրի Օ. Ռոլեֆսոնի ղեկավարությամբ։

Բնակավայրը

Սկզբնական շրջանում՝ Քրիստոսից առաջ մոտավորապես 7000 թվականին, բնակավայրն զբաղեցրել է 10-15 հեկտար տարածք, ունեցել է շուրջ 3 հազար բնակիչ՝ չորս-հինգ անգամ ավելի, քան աշխարհի հնագույն քաղաք համարվող Երիքովը այդ նույն ժամանակաշրջանում։ Սակայն մ. թ. ա. 6500 թվականին բնակչությունը մոտավորապես վեց անգամ նվազել է (հավանաբար՝ շրջակա միջավայրում տեղի ունեցած կլիմայական փոփոխությունների հետևանքով)։

Սկզբնապես դա եղել է տիպիկ նախաքարեդարյան-քարեդարյան գյուղական բնակավայր, որը գտնվել է դեպի դաշտավայր նայող գոգավորությունում։ Տները կառուցված են եղել հում կավից թրծված, զուգահեռանիստերի կամ խողովակների ձև ունեցող աղյուսներով։ Բաղկացած են եղել մեկ համեմատաբար մեծ, քառակուսաձև սենյակից և մեկ փոքր նախասենյակից։ Պատերը դրսից ծեփվել են կավով, ներսից՝ ալեբաստրով (ծեփվածքը երեք-չորս տարին մեկ անգամ թարմացվել է)։

Բնակիչները զբաղվել են գյուղատնտեսությամբ , մշակել են հացահատիկային բույսեր՝ գարի և ցորենի հնագույն տեսակներ, ընդավորներ՝ ոլոռ, ոսպ, լոբի, նուշ, գյուղից դուրս տարածվող դաշտերում արածեցրել են այծեր։ Սննդի պաշարը համալրել են որսորդության հաշվին. որսացել են եղնիկներ, գազելներ, վայրի խոզեր, ցիռեր, նապաստակներ և այլն։

Մշակույթը

Ain Ghazal-ի բնակիչներն իրենց հանգուցյալներից ոմանց թաղել են տների հատակի ներքևում (հաճախ՝ գանգը առանձին, ավելի խոր փոսում, որը հնագետների կողմից մեկնաբանվում է որպես նախնիների նկատմամբ պաշտամունքի արտահայտություն), մյուսներին՝ գյուղի շրջակա հողերում։ Մարդկային մարմինների մնացորդներ են հայտնաբերվել նաև թափոնների զետեղման նպատակով փորված հատուկ փոսերում։ Դա վկայում է, որ այստեղ գոյություն են ունեցել հուղարկավորության ծիսակարգեր, սակայն դեռևս անորոշ է մնում, թե կոնկրետ ում համար են կիրառվել այդ ծեսերը, ինչ չափանիշներով են ընտրվել հանգուցյալները։

Տարբերակված և ծիսակարգային նշանակություն ունեցած որոշ կառուցվածքների շրջակայքում հայտնաբերվել են արարողակարգով թաղվածների մարմինների մնացորդներ, որոնց կողքին գտնվել են ալեբաստրե մարդանման քանդակներ։ Ընդ որում՝ այդ քանդակներում մարդիկ արտացոլված են բնականի կես չափերով։ Քանդակների վրա պատկերված են մազերը, զգեստները, որոշ դեպքերում պատկերներ կան նաև մարմինների վրա։ Աչքերը ոստրեատիպ կենդանիների խեցիներից են, բիբերը՝ ձյութից (բիտումից)։

Ընդհանուր առմամբ հայտնաբերվել է 32 ծեփածո ֆիգուր. 15-ը՝ լիաչափ, նույնքան էլ՝ կիսանդրիաձև, և երկու գլուխների բեկորներ։ Կիսանդրիաձև ֆիգուրներից երեքի վրա եղել է կրկնակի գլուխ, բայց դրա իմաստն ու նշանակությունը դեռևս մնում է անհասկանալի։
