Ջոն Սնոուն ծնվել է 1939 թվականի օգոստոսի 2-ին Օհայոյի Տոլեդո քաղաքում: 1962 թվականին նա ավարտեց Տոլեդոյի համալսարանը, այնուհետև [[Վիրջինիայի համալսարան
