Մաղրատու մեղուներ ցեղը ''Apini''-ի տրիբի մեջ մտնող միակ ցեղն է։ Մինչև վերջին ժամնակներս հայտնի են դարձել 7 տեսակ և 44 ենթատեսակ (Engel, [[1999]]), չնայած պատմական ժամանկներում տարբերակել են 6-11 տեսակ։ Այս խմբին կարելի է ավելացնել ևս 2 տեսակ՝ ''Apis breviligula'' և ''Apis indica'', ինչը чьяհաստատվել валидность была доказана вէ 2010 годуթվականին (Lo and all., 2010).<ref>''Lo, N.; Gloag, R.S.; Anderson, D.L.; Oldroyd, B.P.''
