"The List of the Generations of Hobbit has been set and put forward by Movses Khorenatsi as an alternative to the Old Testament anthology lists, as the Historian complains: "Separating the scripture from his own (the Jews: the author) as his own nation, he left the others as despised and unworthy of his appointment... Khorenatsi has put forward a list of his own ancestry of the son of Noah Jabeth, adding that it is more reliable than the Genesis section, since there are no descendants of Jabeth (M. Khorenatsi, pp. 77-78). Unlike historians writing stories before and after him, the Historian honestly lists what sources he used in the study of Jabet's anthology: Abiudenus, Cephalion, Greek literature, and the Genesis section of the Old Testament. From Khorenatsi, all of our historians have left unchanged the list of leaders in the "Ethnology Starting from Jabet," including the "Haykazun First Haykis" from Hayk to Ara Beautiful.
According to Khorenatsi, a number of Armenian noble families consider Hayk Nahapet as their origin. Among them are the Bznuni, Khhorhoruni, Mardununi, Vahevuni, Varazhnuni, Aranshahik and others. Some modern scholars no longer refuse to regard Hayk as merely a fabulous person and tend to portray him as another Armenian king who has made a major contribution to the preservation and dissemination of the Armenian value system.
