Բարնում Բրաուն (անգլ.՝ Barnum Brown, փետրվարի 12, 1873(1873-02-12)[1][2], Carbondale, Օսեյջ շրջան, Կանզաս, ԱՄՆ - փետրվարի 5, 1963(1963-02-05)[1][2], Նյու Յորք, Նյու Յորք, ԱՄՆ)[3], ամերիկացի հնէաբան։ Համարվում է 20-րդ դարի սկզբի մեծագույն հնէաբաններից մեկը՝ հատկապես 1902 թվականի օգոստոսին Մոնտանա նահանգում առաջին տիրանոզավրի կմախքի հայտնաբերման շնորհիվ։ Նա հայտնաբերել է նաև դինոզավրի երկրորդ կմախքը, որն այսօր հայտնի է AMNH 5027 անվանումով[4]։ Իսկ ինքը՝ Բրաունը, ստացել է Դինոզավրերի որսորդ[5], «Դինոզավրերի հայր», Mr. Bones (Պարոն Ոսկորներ) մականունները։

1890 թվականից սովորել է Կանզասի համալսարանում։ Ուսման ընթացքում և ավարտելուց հետո իրեն նվիրել է գործնական հետազոտությունների։ 1894 թվականին սկսել է աշխատել հնէաբան Սամուել Ուիլիստոնի ղեկավարությամբ։ 1897-1942 թվականներին աշխատել է Նյու Յորքի բնության պատմության ամերիկյան թանգարանում, որի հետ էլ կապված են նրա առավել նշանակալի հայտնագործությունները[6]։

Բրաունի պեղումների հիմնական շրջանն ընկած է եղել Վայրի Արևմուտքի սակավ բնակեցված նահանգներում՝ Վայոմինգում, Մոնտանայում, Կոլորադոյում, Հարավային Դակոտայում, Արիզոնայում և Տեխասում, ինչպես նաև կանադական Ալբերտա մարզում։ Նա հնէաբանական գիտարշավներ է իրականացրել նաև Կուբայում, Պատագոնիայում, Եթովպիայում, Հարավային Ասիայում, միջերկրածովյան Սամոս կղզում, Գվատեմալայում։

Բրաունի առավել հայտնի գտածոները մինչ այդ անհայտ տիրանոզավրի երեք ոչ լրիվ կմախքների մնացորդներն են, որոնք հայտնաբերվել են 1900, 1902 և 1908 թվականներին Վայոմինգում և Մոնտանայում (Հելլ Քրիք ֆորմացիա, ուշ կավճային դարաշրջան)։ Մոնտանայում՝ ամայի մի վայրում 1902 թվականին հայտնաբերված նմուշը, երեք տարի անց օգտագործվել է տեսակի գիտական նկարագրության նպատակով[7]։ Գիտության համար հսկայական նշանակություն են ունեցել Ալբերտայում՝ Ռեդ Դիր գետի հովտում իրականացված պեղումները, որոնց արդյունքում հայտնաբերվել են քարացած մեծաքանակ մնացորդներ, ընդ որում՝ նաև մինչ այդ անհայտ տեսակների մնացորդներ։ 1932 թվականին Վայոմինգում՝ Howe Quarry անվանումով հայտնի ավազահանքում իրականացված պեղումների արդյունքում էլ հայտնաբերվել է յուրայի դարաշրջանի դինոզավրերի մի մեծ դամբան, որոնք սատկել են միևնույն պահին կամ չափազանց կարճ ժամանակամիջոցում։

Բրաունի հնէաբանական ուսումնասիրությունները չեն սահմանափակվել բացառապես դինոզավրերով։ Նա զբաղվել է նաև վերացած կաթնասունների, այդ թվում՝ մարդու նախնիների մնացորդների որոնմամբ։ Հնդկաստանի ու Պակիստանի հյուսիսում՝ Սիվալիկ լեռներում նրան հաջողվել է գտնել բրածո պրիմատի ծնոտի երեք բեկոր. բրածո պրիմատին տրվել է սիվապիտեկ անվանումը։ Նորագույն ժամանակների գիտնականներից առաջինը Բրաունին է հաջողվել ԱՄՆ-ում հայտնաբերել այսպես կոչված՝Ֆոլսոմի հնագիտական մշակույթի հետքեր, որոնք ապացուցում են ամերիկյան մայրցամաքում ժամանակակից մարդու նախնիների առկայությունը ավելի քան 11 հազար տարի առաջ[8]։

Ի տարբերություն իր ժամանակակից շատ ու շատ գիտնականների՝ Բրաունը գերադասել է դաշտային գործնական աշխատանքը և բավարար ուշադրություն չի նվիրել իր հայտնագործությունների հրապարակմանը՝ այդ իրավունքը զիջելով գործընկերներին[9]։ Այդուհանդերձ՝ ակտիվ որոնումների տարիներին նա լույս է ընծայել շուրջ մեկ հարյուրյակ աշխատություններ, որոնց մի մասը նվիրված է եղել նոր տեսակների նկարագրմանը։ Ներկա դրությամբ Բրաունին է պատկանում առնվազն ութ դինոզավրերի՝ անկիլոզավրի, կրիտոզավրի, զաուրոլոֆայի, հիպակրոզավրի, անխիցերատոպսի, կորիտոզավրի, լեպտոցերատոպսի ու պրոզաուրոլոֆի, ինչպես նաև մեզոզոյան կոկորդիլոսակերպ մի սողունի՝ պրոտոզուխիայի գիտական նկարագրությունը։

Բարնում Բրաունը մահացել է 89 տարեկան հասակում Նյու Յորքում[10]։
